Senior PR Account Manager
PR & Communications
Cornwall, UK
About Halo
Halo is an international communications agency for the people building the future in space, defence, deep tech, climate and AI.
Our clients are delivering world-changing innovation – our job is to make sure the right people understand why it matters: media, investors, governments, partners and the public.
We do it through strategy, earned media and content that’s impossible to scroll past.
We work across some of the most exciting, and sometimes most commercially sensitive, sectors on Earth.
We take the work seriously. We don’t take ourselves too seriously.
Created by humans, enhanced by AI
Halo is an AI-enabled agency.
Halo is an agency embracing the AI era. We’re human-led and AI-powered – building the tools, processes and systems that carry the routine: briefs, media lists, distribution, monitoring and reporting and processes.
Our people spend their time on the things AI can’t do: strategy, relationships, creativity and writing. Our judgement and our voice stays human.
You don’t need to be an expert about tech on day one. You do need to be curious and to have incredibly high standards.
The role
We’re looking for a Senior PR Account Manager who is ready to roll their sleeves up.
This is the senior client-facing PR role at Halo. You’ll own the PR strategy across our client book, run the press office, and support the account team on their client and PR work. You’ll also write and pitch to international and national platforms via print and broadcast.
We want the best writer and the sharpest media brain in the room, with their hands on the work every day.
You’ll report to our CEO and sit alongside our Head of Digital and Operations. Between you, you hold all the PR that leaves the building.
You’ll inherit relationships built over years with clients across the UK and Europe, and you’ll be trusted with them quickly.
What you’ll do
- Client strategy: Own the PR strategy for our clients as part of their overarching communications strategy
- Client relations: Be the senior name clients know and call – working to keep our retainers renewing
- Work alongside the CEO on our largest relationships and manage others independently
- Run the press office across the book: relationship building, announcements, reactive commentary and reactive moments – we need you to have your finger on the pulse of the news cycle
- Write: Press releases, thought leadership, comment, briefing notes
- Pitch: Build and bring journalist relationships across space, defence, science, tech and climate
- Brief: Prepare spokespeople for interviews, panels and announcements, and handle embargoed and sensitive comms with care
- Know the difference between coverage that flatters and coverage that moves the dial, and steer clients appropriately
- Manage a high volume of inbound media requests across a wide range of clients, with our bespoke build tooling doing the tracking
- Support our account managers as they look to deliver vibrant and bold work back to our clients and support the PR output of their digital delivery
- Set the standard on an account – an eye for detail and tenacity for pushing key narratives is critical
- Be ready to get stuck in on cover when someone’s away
- Occasionally brief our designer, video producer and freelancers well, so the work comes back right the first time
Growing the business and your role
- Spot where an account should grow, and build the case for it
- Contribute to new business: pitches, proposals and the thinking behind them
- Bring a point of view on where Halo goes next, including what we should be building with AI next
What we’re looking for
- Formative experience in PR or communications, agency or in-house, at a level where you’ve owned client relationships and helped set strategic direction but training and support can be given
- Hands-on, and happy about it. You write well and quickly, and you massively enjoy landing a story. If you’ve moved away from the doing and don’t want to come back to it, this isn’t the role for you
- Live media relationships across space, defence, science, tech, climate or business press, or a track record that shows you build them fast
- Sound judgement under pressure: embargoes, corrections, and supporting a client with a problem
- Someone a team wants to learn from
- Comfortable in a fast-moving business where the structure is still being built, and keen to help shape it
- Curious about AI and how it changes this job. We’ll show you how we work, and we’ll want your ideas for improving it
- Curious about the tech. You don’t need a physics degree, you need to want to understand – you get to ask all the best questions!
What we offer
- The senior client PR role in an agency working on space, defence, deep tech and AI
- Real authority to make a difference to our clients
- An AI stack that takes the admin off your desk, and a say in how it develops
- A direct line to the founder, and a say in where the agency goes next
- Private healthcare after one year’s continuous employment; six-month probation
- Grown-up, flexible working: up to three days a week in our Newquay office (or full-time if you’d prefer), hybrid the rest. Need a couple of hours for life admin and want to start early instead? Fine by us – we’ll ask for the same flex back when we’re on a deadline
About the role
- This is a full-time role: 40 hours a week with a paid hour for lunch
- You’ll report to the CEO and work alongside our Head of Digital and Operations.
- The role requires occasional travel within the UK and abroad.
- Annual leave entitlement is 28 days per annum (inclusive of all UK bank and public holidays).
How to apply
Send us whatever shows us who you are and what you can do.
Include one thing you’ve written and one national PR story you’re proud of landing, and tell us why that one. Send it to hello@ha-lo.co or direct to jess.ratty@ha-lo.co
Applications close on Friday 2nd October 2026.
